Smugglers held

A BSF team from Tura intercepted an Alto car AS-01-AZ-2930 on Tura -Dalu road and seized 500 bottles of Phensedyl and nabbed four Phensedyl smugglers on Sunday. The arrested persons have been identified as Nazimuddin, Anwar Hussain, Ziarul Haque and Noor Islam. During the interrogation, apprehended persons revealed that the consignment was to be delivered to one Hirul Mandal of Gasuapara, adding a follow-up operation was launched jointly with police and one Bishin Sangma of Gasuapara, South Garo Hills was apprehended.

Vehicle theft

On July 20 around 3 am, unknown miscreants stole one Tata DI Pick-up (AS-25-AC-3496) belonging to Md. Dilbar Ali from Byrnihat.

Kidnap

On July 19 around 9.30 am, one Litjanai Sun kidnapped a woman (24) from Demseiniong, Shillong in a Hyundai i10 car (ML-05K-5593).

Theft

On July 19 night, unknown miscreants stole eleven cartons of cigarettes valued around Rs 6.64 lakh from the ITC Godown, GS Road, Shillong.

On July 16 around 1 pm, unknown miscreants stole one mobile phone from the house of Rangsilchi K Marak at Lower Hawakhana, Tura.

Threat

Lasting K Pala lodged a complaint that on July 17 around 1 pm, he received a phone call from one Babu Dhar who threatened the complainant with dire consequences.
