District and Session Judge Court inaugurated

 SHILLONG: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Dr. Mukul Sangma along with Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice T. Meena Kumari on Saturday, inaugurated the Court of District & Session Judge of West Jaintia Hills at the Office Complex of the Deputy Commissioner, Jowai.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma said the State Government will be inaugurating soon two more Session Judge Court one in Nongpoh and the other inTura.

India being a democratic country, the survival and sustainability of democracy depends on how vibrant our Judicial System, the Chief Minister, informed.

The focuses of the Government in establishing District & Session Judge Court is to expedite cases and deliver Justice, this will also help the Police Department who are tied up with their duties in solving cases and investigation said the Chief Minister.

Further elaborating on the Government effort, Dr. Mukul Sangma called for cooperation of the people. “All developmental programmes can be expediently carried out when there is peace and harmony, and when people are self regulating”, Dr Sangma said.

He at same time assured that the Government will equip with the requirements of the District Court.

Justice T. Meena Kumari Chief Justice of High Court of Meghalaya emphasized on the importance of the District & Session Judge Court in the District ensuring its effective functioning at the same time giving importance to the local custom.
