SHILLONG: Voicing their concern over the issue of influx, the Synjuk Ki Rangbah Shnong have unanimously resolved to ask the State government to acknowledge the residential certificates provided by the Dorbar Shnong only and not any other organisations or politicians.

Stepping in, the Synjuk took its decision at a meeting held here recently whereby it has directed all the Rangbah Shnongs to verify the authenticity of the documents produced by migrants besides asking the respective Dorbar Shnong to register all the local residents.

The Dorbar Shnongs have been asked to go through the entire verification process in detail before letting anyone stay in the locality.

In a statement issued here on Sunday president of the Synjuk TR Shanpru said that they will ask the government not to entertain any residential certificate provided by any organisations or MLA, MDC or NGOs but those provided by the Dorbar Shnong only.

The meeting also spoke at length about the enrollment for the National Population Register (NPR) and Biometric enrollment and resolved to ask the government to keep the enrollment process in abeyance till they get a proper clarification from the government.

“We will also ask all the Dorbar Shnong not to allow the enrollment process to take place in their locality at present,” Shanpru said.
