NEW DELHI: The first Grassroots Centres under the ‘All Manipur Football Association Grassroots Programme’ started with a rousing reception in Imphal and Kakching, Manipur, the All India Football Federation reported on Tuesday.

In total, 77 children have enrolled in the first programme in Imphal.

The programme has received a positive response, with a large number of parents keen to see their children take part.

Each Grassroots Programme will run for three months, after which the children can enroll again or new participants will be given the opportunity to take part.

The All Manipur Football Association expressed its confidence that each district in the state will see a Grassroots centre in the months following the rainy season.
