SHILONG: After KSU and other NGOs, now the youth wing of the UDP has demanded immediate withdrawal of the advertisement for the post of two Assistant Conservator of Forests (Probationers) for the 2014-2015 Diploma Course in Forestry (State Forest Service).
In a petition submitted to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, UDP youth wing vice president Hamlet Dohling said that the Party has taken strong reservations to the provisions stipulated, as they leave ample room for suspect of manipulation which is illegal and therefore the youth wing wants immediate withdrawal of the advertisement.
The advertisement has been under fire as one of the conditions of the advertisement specifies inviting applications from citizens of India as well as displaced persons from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) permanently residing in Meghalaya or intending to reside permanently in Meghalaya, possessing an Indian citizenship certificate.
