Another UTP commits suicide

 SHILLONG: Subsequent to three custodial deaths in the last two days, another Under Trial Prisoner (UTP) on Saturday committed suicide at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Shillong.

Informing this, SP (City) Vivek Syiem said that the deceased Asim D Sangma was mentally unstable.

The UTP was admitted to the institute after he was brought from the Tura district jail.

According to Syiem, the UTP committed suicide by hanging himself and the inquest was conducted by a magistrate.
