Missing person
Khrawkupar Kharmyndai, fondly known as Rang (33, Male), resident of Nongrimbah, Laitumkhrah, has been reported missing from home since August 24 at 7pm. He has been suffering from mental illness for the last four months. He is fair in complexion, 5.4 ft tall and was wearing dark blue check sweat shirt with white stripes, purple T-Shirt and light grey track pants with maroon stripes and black sandals. Arrests
* On August 27 at about 9.30 am, residents of Pynthorbah Block-IV apprehended and assaulted one Salam Kharpran (22), while he was attempting to molest a minor girl (17) in her house at Pynthorbah. As a result, the accused sustained injuries and admitted at CH, Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.
* On August 27, Police arrested one Bikram Sarkar from near Military Hospital, Shillong. The person is wanted in several cases of money swindling from customers from different ATM booths in Shillong.
Theft
* On August 27 at around 10.30 am, unknown miscreants stole one laptop computer and two cell-phones belonging to one Jarina M Sangma from Assembly Quarters, Shillong.
* On August 25 at around 1.30 am, unknown miscreants stole one TV set from Tura Govt. College Girls’ Hostel (WGH).
Assault
* On August 27 at around 1.30 pm, one Denzil Eleazer Warbah and his accomplices assaulted Madhav Chettri and Himangshu Mishra at Oakland, Shillong. As a result, the victims sustained injuries. Matter is under enquiry.
* On August 26 at around 7 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Rana Singh near Dreamland Cinema Hall, Shillong. As a result, he sustained minor injuries. Matter is under enquiry.
* On August 26 at about 7.30 pm, five persons, Syer Sante, Kohrit Kharbani, Sahep, Makhar and Bantei assaulted Jeffry Rynjah (18) and Willingstar Pakma (18) at Wahkdait, Nongmynsong. As a result, the victims sustained injuries and was shifted to CH, Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.
Body found
On August 26 at around 3 pm, the body of one Eslilin Nongbri was recovered from near the Shillong Bypass under Umroi PIC. Cadaver was sent to CH Nongpoh for post-mortem examination. Matter is under enquiry.
Rape
It is reported that one Anon D Sangma had raped one woman at Arenggre village (SWGH) over the past six months.
