Seminar

A State-level Seminar for students on the topic ‘Water Co-Operation: Issues and challenges’ will be organised by the Directorate of School Education and Literacy on August 30 at the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides, State headquarters, at 10 am.

Appeal

The All Meghalaya Gramsevak Assocation has appealed to the abductors to release Mujibur Rehman, a Gramsevak of Daddengre C&RD Block, unconditionally on humanitarian grounds. He has been allegedly abducted by GNLA militants.

Felicitation

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Shillong College, will felicitate the participants of the UGC-sponsored three months’ certificate course in Entrepreneurship Development which started on May 27.The felicitation programme will be held on August 30 at 3 pm on the college premises.

Exporters’ meet

The Hmar Students in Shillong will organise the 56th fresher’s meet-cum- annual conference 2013 on August 31 at the Don Bosco Technical Hall, Laitumkhrah.

Condemnation

The Garo Students’ Union, Khasi Hills Zone, has condemned the incident where a 24-year-old youth was allegedly assaulted by one SOT personnel at Bishnupur Bazaar, Shillong on August 24. The GSU has also condemned the behaviour of the officer in charge of Kench’s Trace Police Beat House.

Unclaimed body

Family and relatives of Teibor Thongni (40) of Myriaw, West Khasi Hills, who expired on August 20, have been requested to claim the body from Shillong Civil Hospital.
