Mass enrolment of children in State planned on World Literacy Day
SHILLONG: The State Education Mission Authority of Meghalaya will observe the World Literacy Day on September 13 by organizing a mass school enrolment drive for out of school children of the State for 2013.
More than 4000 children are expected to be enrolled across the State.
The celebration will be held in all District Headquarters and at the state level function will be held at Shillong.
Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Education, Prof RC Laloo will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
Notice
The interview for the candidates (B.Ed Session 2014) scheduled on September 18 has been deferred to September 21 on account of Unitarian Day. Time and venue will remain the same. Interview for September 19 and 20 will be as scheduled.
Fete
The St Xavier’s High School will organise a cultural food fete on September 14 from 10 am to 4 pm.
Recovery camp
The recovery camp and awareness programme of the State Bank of India (Madanryting) Branch which was scheduled to be held on September 7 on the Branch premises has been rescheduled to September 14.
Foundation Day
The Laban Bengalee Boys’ HS School will observe its 90th Foundation Day on September 13 at 11 am on the school premises. Local MLA Sanbor Shullai will be present as the chief guest.
General meet
The general meeting of the Federation of All Meghalaya Adhoc Secondary Teachers’ Association will be held on September 14 at 11 am at Arya Kanya Vidhyalaya Secondary School, Laitumkhrah.
Clarification
The Shillong Agri Horticultural Society has clarified that the Annual Autumn Flower Show 2013 would be held on October 16-18 and not September 16-18.
Seminar
The Academic Activity Committee of Raid Laban College will organize a one-day UGC and SBI sponsored seminar on ‘Women Entrepreneurship’ on September 13 on the College premises. Deputy Speaker Sanbor Shullai will be the chief guest.
Religious prog
An ‘Akhanda Bhagawat’ path will be performed in the premises of Shri Shri Madhabdev Namghar, Asom Kristi Kendra, Stoney Land on September 14. All are requested to attend.
