Aggrieved DSC-passed candidates to meet Governor

SHILLONG: Association of Qualified Grade-IV, East Khasi Hills, 2013 have decided to meet Governor KK Paul to express their problems especially on the reluctancy of the Government departments to remove the temporary appointees.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, association general secretary S Pyngrope said that they have the decided to meet the Governor during its general meeting held on Saturday.

“The main reason for meeting the Governor to express on their various grievances especially the adamant attitude of the Government departments especially the Directorate of Health Service to remove all the temporary appointees as per the RTI findings,” Pyngrope said. “The politics of the Government departments have delayed their appointment,” association general secretary while also informing that they are also going to meet Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma and Chief Secretary WMS Pariat to request them to intervene.

So far, a total number of 130 candidates in the merit list are yet to get the appointment, he said that they would also urge upon the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary to extend the period of the merit list since it is going to lapse next month.

“We would urge to extent the period merit list till the time when all the qualified candidates in the merit list gets the appointment,” Pyngrope added.

It may be mentioned that the Association of Qualified Grade-IV, 2011, East Khasi Hills is likely to hold another series of agitations in the next few days in protest against the failure of the Directorate of Health Services to terminate all temporary appointees.
