Kohima: The need to refine and redefine development parameters that are often forced on the people of the mountains based on policies designed for the plains, has been underscored by Nagaland’s minister for Sports & Youth Resources, Merentoshi R. Jamir.

“Let us build on them so that we are not fragile and susceptible, especially to disasters like those experienced recently in Uttarakhand or even the Sikkim earthquake and the Ladakh floods,” Jamir said on Sunday at the first Indian Himalayan Youth Summit at Naga Heritage Village. (PTI)
