SHILLONG: Considering the dilapidated condition of the Bug Bridge over river Khri located at Mairang-Ranigodown-Azra NEC road, the sub divisional magistrate of Mairang Sub Division, Arunkumar Kembhavi, has imposed loading restrictions and prohibited movement of heavy-loaded vehicle carrying weight more than nine tons plying through this road.

According to the reports presented by the PWD department, the bug bridge over this river is in a dilapidated condition and may collapse at any time due to frequent and daily plying of heavy overloaded trucks.

Violation of this order will result in prosecution under Section 188 of the IPC and punishment as per law by the competent court.

This order will come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force for two months unless modified or rescinded earlier, the notification said.

Due to exigency in nature and circumstances of the matter, this order is issued, ex-parte under section 144 (2) of CrPC. However, anyone aggrieved by this order may approach the competent authority for modification, waiver, and alteration or rescind of the order, the notice said.
