Nongstoin: A 16-year-old girl, identified as one Larisha Sangma, was on Tuesday evening found hanging in her rented house at Mawlarshong in New Nongstoin Village, West Khasi Hills District.
Relatives of the deceased informed that before she was in a disturbed state of mind when she retired to her room. Later, one of the relatives went to check on her and found her hanging from the ceiling with a rope around her neck. They immediately rushed her to the hospital, where the doctor pronounced her dead.
Police said that the reason behind the ‘suicide’ was unknown and investigation was on.
