Arrest

On October 12, Police arrested Eldie Newton Lyngdoh (33), publicity secy., FKJGP Central Body from Umsning (RB), in connection with arson case under Nongpoh PS.

Accident

  • On October 12, one unidentified male person (40) fell down from a Bridge at Lawjynriew, Nongthymmai. As a result, he sustained head injury and is unconscious. He was admitted at CH, Shillong.
  • On October 11 at about 11 am, a boulder accidentally fell on Loter Thabah (50) and Phrowlin Marbaniang (50), while they were working in a stone quarry at Mairangbah village (WKH). As a result, Loter Thabah died at the spot, while Phrowlin Marbaniang sustained grievous injuries and admitted at CHC Mairang.
  • On October 10 at about 4:30 pm, one baby boy (1 yr 10 months) accidentally fell into a pond at Mawthynniew village (WKH) and drowned.

Impersonation

On October 11 at about 7:30 pm, one Batskhem Pala impersonated himself as a Home Guard personnel and created nuisance in a Puja Pandal at Polo, Shillong. Police arrested the accused.

Body recovered

On October 9 around 10 am, dead body of Ed Wahlang (75) was recovered from Nongbri Nongdom village (SWKH). Deceased was reported missing since October 8, 2013.

Rape

On the night of October 8, one Atal Uddin raped a girl (18) in her house at Bhangarpar village (WGH). Police arrested the accused.
