SHILLONG: The ANVC-B on Sunday celebrated its foundation day with the village folks and the cadres at its Eden Bari Camp at Tura.
During the celebration, ANVC-B leaders stressed on the need to abide by the outfit’s policy for the cause of the people and for the greater cause of ushering in ‘peace’ in the area.
Speaking at the celebration, ANVC-B chairman, Rimpu Marak, warned of pseudo ANVC-Bs who are mostly the deserters who are trying to malign the name of the organization by carrying out illegal activities using the letter pads, seals and name of the organization.
“Most of these cadres have joined UALA and some have flouted new organisations just to collect money and people should beware of any individual demanding or threatening in the name of ANVC-B,” the chairman said.
To commemorate the foundation day the ANVC-B chairman released six songs to be freely distributed to the people via mobile including a unique Garo ‘rap song’ Kupatiani (An advice) which is composed in the line of famous singer Eminem and speaks strongly of the deteriorating situation in Garo Hills.
Other songs include Achik Asong, Mikrakbo, Sengani Chasong, Tangna onbo angni janggiko and Bisan Sal, which speaks about childhood days.
The songs speak about the present situation of Garo Hills, and are in no way intended to bring in confusion and misunderstanding, the outfit clarified. Videos will be released soon to raise fund for camp maintenance, the ANVC-B informed.
