Theft
On October 21 at around 2.30 pm, two persons, Ram Barman (21) and Sanjay Yadav, were caught red-handed while stealing cell phones from the shop belonging to Md. Nurul Islam at Lower Ballian, Raja Bagan (RB). However, five of their accomplices managed to escape. Later, 25 out of 250 stolen cell phones were recovered.
One Bibiana Lamare lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on October 19 at around 10.20 pm, unidentified miscreants armed with daggers, entered inside her restaurant at Iewduh and looted Rs. 10,000.
Murder
One Brezil Puwein lodged a complaint at Shallang PS that on October 21 at about 5.30 pm, unknown miscreants shot dead his mother namely Medo Puwein with a muzzle loading gun, at Kyllon Mathei village (WKH).
During interrogation of four persons, Stikshan Synshiang, Blassius Langsah, Damian Tyrsa and Koning Tyrsa, in connection with a murder case under Nongstoin PS, it was revealed that they had murdered one Sorbit Nongbak in the month of December 2012. Following this, the dead body was exhumed (October 12) and spot post-mortem was conducted by M&HO Riangdo CHC. Another murder case was registered against them.
Assault
One Kwan Buhtep lodged a complaint at Pynursla PS that Mon Buhtep who was admitted at Nazareth Hospital, Shillong on October 9, for her illness had died on October 17 and the medical report indicated that the deceased had died due to internal injuries. The deceased, in her dying declaration, stated that on September 30, 2013, her husband namely Diang Tangsong had assaulted her.
Bodies recovered
One unknown male person was found lying on the road side near Sani Mandir, GS Road, in an unconscious manner. He was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong on October 13 where he died on October 19. The body has been kept in the hospital morgue for identification. Any persons who have information in this connection can contact the police at 0364-2222277.
One unknown male body was found lying at Super Market, Polo Bazar, on October 15. Inquest has been done and the body has been kept in Shillong Civil Hospital Morgue for identification. The person has a fair complexion, about 35-40 years of age and medium built. He is wearing a red sweater with black jacket and blue trousers.
