TURA: A petition has been submitted to the Deputy Commissioners of North and South Garo Hills seeking immediate action for the stoppage of alleged illegal collection of tax from coal trucks at Wa’ge asi GHADC weighbridge in North Garo Hills and the Nengja weighbridge in South Garo Hills also belonging to the GHADC.

In a petition submitted to the deputy commissioners of the two districts, the petitioner, Jim Carter M Sangma, stated that concerned businessmen plying their coal trucks along National Highway 62 were being subjected to undue hardships due to the illegal tax collection at the two weighbridges in question.
