Pune: Mumbai FC will look to get back to winning ways when they host Mohun Bagan in an I-League round seven clash at the Balewadi Sports Complex here on Saturday.
Having struck a purple patch in their campaign, Mumbai FC (7th, 6 points) faces a Bagan side that sits just two places below them in the standings, with only one point separating them.
Keeping their back-to-back setbacks aside, the hosts hope to secure their first home win of the season as Coach Khalid Jamil explains, “We certainly looking at plugging the losses and are working on it.”
The visitors come into the game high on confidence after logging their first win of the season defeating high-flying Salgaocar FC 2-1 at home and will be a stronger unit.
Mumbai FC, however, will be hoping to make most of the home conditions and will hope to exploit the fact that Bagan’s previous visit to Balewadi earlier this month resulted in a 0-2 defeat to Pune FC.
Meanwhile, in Kolkata, East Bengal will take on table-toppers Bengaluru FC.
Bengaluru will be playing their maiden away game, having won four of their five home matches to occupy the pole position in the 13-team table with as many points. (IANS)
