Construction work approved

Itanagar: Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath has approved in principle construction of the Itanagar by-pass road at the request of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki in a meeting in New Delhi.
The meeting was held yesterday to discuss various schemes of Arunachal Pradesh being implemented under the ministry, official sources said here today.
Nath has assured the chief minister of full support by his Ministry on improving the urban infrastructure in the state.
Tuki had said that he was focussed on developing state of the art sewerage, solid waste management and proper drainage systems in various notified urban areas of the state.
Later in the day, Tuki called on the Union Minister of Water Resources Harish Rawat to discuss primarily the status of the Integrated Flood and Erosion Management Programme. (PTI)
