SHILLONG: Owing to confusions amongst the Dorbar Clans in providing No Objection certificate (NOC) due to the prevalence of the same Dorbar Clan in two Himas, the Dorbar Ki Khlieh Nongsynshar has moved the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) to introduce a ‘KHADC Clan Dorbar Bill 2013’.

“Introduction of this bill will clear all the confusion amongst the Clans,” chairman of the Dorbar Ki Khlieh Nongsynshar, John F Kharshiing, said adding that there have been instances when questions have been raised on the liable Dorbar for the Nongrum clan to give away the NOC as there are two Dorbar clans – one of the Hima Sohra and the other of the Hima Khyrim.

In this connection, Kharshiing has asked all the 3363 Dorbar Clan/Seng Kur Khasi Pnar to submit their respective documents along with the names and phone number of the president or secretary of the clan, to his office. Further, Kharshiing has asked the chairman of the respective Dorbar Clan to forward their documents to their respective district administration and the Elaka of the KHADC and JHADC with the correct spelling of the name of their clans to avoid confusion in future.
