Peon held for theft in Secretariat

SHILLONG: A peon of Meghalaya Secretariat was arrested on Saturday for stealing computer from the chamber of Parliamentary Secretary Rophul S Marak, in the Additional Secretariat last Tuesday morning.

According to police, a CPU, keyboard and a mouse stolen from the Secretariat was recovered on Saturday evening from Laitkor following the arrest of the peon identified as Peterson Mawrie.

The accused was remanded in five-day police custody.
