Lawyer clarifies on Sale deed

JOWAI: A Lawyer from Khliehriat, Nidaram Sarkar has clarified he has helped Sita Saioo- the main accused who kidnapped Iammi Pakma (4) Ladrymbai and Tipki Rynjah in preparing the ‘Deed of Adoption’ not a Sale Deed as reported earlier.
Speaking to this Correspondent, Sarkar informed that on August 3, some people including Sita Saioo, Tipki Rynjah and her husband, Evening Dkhar along with another woman identified as Melty Langstang came to meet him with a request to help them prepare a ‘Deed of Adoption’ as Tipki Rynjah and her husband wanted to adopt Saioo’ daughter.
“I asked Saioo, who claimed to be the real mother of the girl as to why she wanted to give her daughter to Rynjah and she told me that being burdened with many children, she could not raise her,” Sarkat said adding, that he had no idea that it was a case wherein the girl was kidnapped and was being sold to a third party.
The Lawyer also informed that such Deeds of Adoption need not be compulsorily registered in the court of law.
