Prince Charles, wife pay tributes to 26/11 victims

Mumbai: British royal couple, Prince Charles and wife Camilla who are on a nine-day visit to India, on Saturday paid tributes to victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
Their Royal Highnesses laid a wreath to commemorate victims of the Mumbai terrorist attack, sources in the British Deputy High Commission here said.
Tata Group Chairman Emeritus, Ratan Tata and Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry were present at the event held at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
Earlier, the royal couple visited a mobile crèche here and toured the classrooms. They met children, parents and staff. The Prince of Wales also met senior business leaders for a round table discussion about corporate social responsibility.
Those present included Anand Mahindra, Swati Piramal and Chanda Kochar. The Prince of Wales also visited the Godrej Mangrove Reserve where he toured a medicinal herb garden before taking a boat tour around the area.
On Sunday, in Mumbai, the royal couple is scheduled to participate in a Remembrance Day function and attend service at the St. John the Evangelist Church and meet war veterans and Indian Defence Staff.
Later, they will leave for Pune and attend another Remembrance Day event at Kirkee Cemetery run by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and also tour the cemetery.
Also in Pune, the Prince of Wales will tour the Serum Institute of India, meet staff and see some of the manufacturing facilities.
Later in the day tomorrow, the royal couple will attend an event to celebrate business and youth enterprise at Pune’s Royal Western India Turf Club. The Prince along with the Duchess of Cornwall is on a nine-day visit to India ahead of his trip to Sri Lanka where he is chairing the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). (PTI)
