Condemnation

The West Shillong Block Congress Committee has condemned the recent arson attack at the residences of Abhishek Chettri and Chandrabala Chettri at Lumdiengjri. The BCC has urged the law makers to arrest the culprits and punish them according to the law.

Concert

N-E Service, AIR, in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture, will organise a live concert ‘Music for Unity’ as part of Quami Ekta Week from Nov 19-25. Governor Dr KK Paul will be the chief guest.

Workshop

The PHE Department and the Office of the Chief Engineer, Environment and Sanitation, MWSSO, will organise a workshop on ‘Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance under the National Rural Drinking Water Programme’ on Nov 20 at Orchid Hotel.

Natl seminar

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Lady Keane College, Shillong, is organising a two-day national seminar on ‘Politics of Environment’ on Nov 21 and 22 at 9.30 am in the college auditorium. Principal Secretary in charge of Agriculture, P Kharkongor, will inaugurate the seminar on Nov 21 at 9:30 am.

Lok Adalat

The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, will hold the National Lok Adalat on Nov 25 in the High Court of Meghalaya, in all the district courts, Deputy Commissioners’ Courts, all District Council courts and all Sub-Divisional courts for quick disposal of cases.

Quami Ekta

The State Level Function to observe the Quami Ekta Week and Administering of the National Integration Pledge will be held on Nov 19 at 11 am in front of the Main Secretariat, Rilang Building.

The Dorbar Shnong Malki has elected a new Rangbah Shnong. Prodin Kharmudai from Dong Lumbalang was elected as the new Rangbah Shnong.
