TURA: The Nokma of Danakgre A’king land in Tura has passed away after sustaining bullet injuries in what is believed to be a case of suicide.
Forty-year-old Nokma Netherson M Sangma was entertaining two friends at his house on Sunday afternoon when the incident took place.
The victim was reportedly holding his licensed shot gun while relaxing with his friends on that fateful day. He is said to have told his guests that he was going out to shoot a bird and had just left the room when a loud bang was heard. The Nokma was found grievously injured with a shot to his body and later died of his wound.
A case of accidental firing of the gun has not been ruled out in the investigation even as there is strong suspicion that the victim may have committed suicide. He is said to have had suicidal tendencies in the past.
