SHILLONG: ANVC(B) has called for a public opinion on free and fair trade in Garo Hills and also on measures to check price rise.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, the ANVC.B said that obstruction to free and fair trade in Garo Hills is a major concern and it is sad to see why outsiders are progressing considerably in short span of time at the cost of the locals.

“There are irregularities and ‘zero’ encouragement to the locals including ‘benami’ practices which have paralyzed the local trading”, they said. The militant outfit also expressed concern over increase in prices of essential commodities.
