Mapusa (Goa): Salgaocar SC will look to extend their lead at the top of the table when they take on Bengaluru FC on Tuesday in an I-League match at Duler Stadium here.

Both teams have drawn their last matches, with Salgaocar maintaining the top position in the standings with 18 points from nine matches, one point above Pune FC, who they drew against in the last match.

Bengaluru FC played a goalless draw against Sporting Clube de Goa and are placed third with 15 points from nine matches.

Salgaocar’s coach Derick Pereira knows the importance of the match as their opponents, who are also having a good run, will go all out to win and close the gap at the top.

Salgaocar will depend on Darryl Duffy to score along with Claude Gnakpa.

“It’s going to be a close contest as both the teams will try to get full points. We need to remain more focused and take full advantage of the chances we get and score if we are to win tomorrow,” stated Pereira.

Bengaluru’s Sunil Chhetri, who was not in his element against Sporting, will be looking to lead the team from the front along with Sean Rooney for the visitors. (PTI)
