SSCB win junior archery nationals

Kokrajhar: Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) emerged victorious with five gold, one silver and six bronze medals in the 36th Junior National Archery Championship, which concluded here on Wednesday.
Punjab finished second with five gold, a silver and four bronze medals, while Jharkhand tipped hosts Assam for third place with four gold, seven silver and 10 bronze.
Assam finished with two gold, 10 silver and two bronze.
Raj Govind Swansi of SSCB bagged as many as three golds medals in the 90m, 70m and 30m boys recurve event.
Andhra Pradesh was declared the most disciplined team.
For Assam, both gold medals were earned by girls with Gahela Boro winning in the 40m category, while Himani Boro won the 60m recurve event, besides earning a silver in 50m and bronze in 70m recurve event.
The four-day tournament, which began on November 24, was organised by Kokrajhar District Sports Association under the aegis of Archery Association of Assam. (PTI)
