YMCA members visit orphanage in Pynursla

SHILLONG: The board of directors of YMCA, Shillong visited the NEIMA Orphanage and Poor Children’s Home at Laitmynrieng, Pynursla on Thursday. The orphanage, run by North East India Mission Association, Ri War Mihngi, since 2011 has 41 children (22 boys and 19 girls) between the age group of 4-12 years.
Five house mothers take care of the needs of the orphans.
The visit of the members lightened up the spirit of the children as Christmas Carols were sung and sports goods, sweets and refreshments distributed.
YMCA general secretary, D.L.Warjri, delivered a Christmas message on the occasion and called upon the children to be steadfast and to have faith in God.
Meanwhile, NEIMA will organise a Gospel Concert on Saturday for raising funds for the orphanage.
