Ghaziabad:  The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders met in this Uttar Pradesh town neighbouring Delhi Tuesday to take a final decision on the Congress party’s reply to the 18 issues it had raised.
The meeting at the party office in Kaushambi in Ghaziabad was attended by all AAP candidates who won the Delhi assembly polls.
“We will take the final decision on the Congress party’s reply to AAP’s letter today (Tuesday) in the meeting,” senior AAP member Manish Sisodia told media.
The meeting started at 3 p.m. Earlier, six members of the political affairs committee of the AAP met at the house of party chief Arvind Kejriwal.
They decided to meet party MLAs to discuss the Congress party’s response on the 18 issues it had raised in a letter to it and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
A party member said that the MLAs will go to their constituencies and meet the people to seek their suggestions on government formation with the Congress support in Delhi. They will also take help of the social media sites to seek suggestions from the people.
The AAP wrote both to the Congress and the BJP and asked the two to clarify their stands on the 18 issues the AAP raised after it was invited by Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung for talks on government formation.
The BJP bagged 31 seats and fell short of a clear majority in the 70-member house while the AAP got 28 seats. The Congress was a distant third with only eight seats.
Congress had then put the ball in AAP’s court, saying 16 of its 18 demands needed just administrative decisions and had nothing to do with Parliament or Assembly. (IANS)
