SHILLONG: MPDA detainee Reginald Thabah, the assistant information secretary of FKJGP, was released on Friday.
According to the brother of Thabah, the Political Affairs department, in its order issued on Friday, said Thabah was released from detention on the advice of the Governor after he had appeared before the Advisory Board which is dealing with the MPDA related cases.
Though there was a move on the part of the State Government to release two MPDA detainees who were arrested in connection with the ILP related cases, the release order of only Thabah was issued on Friday.
The case of Eldie N Lyngdoh, information secretary of FKJGP, is yet to be taken up by the Advisory Board.
There were only two cases of MPDA in East Khasi Hills in connection with the ILP related violence.
