One attacked

SHILLONG: One Phlan War Syntengheh attacked Hes Sohtun (39) with a machete (dao) at Mawryngkneng village on Wednesday morning.
The accused then attempted to commit suicide by jumping into a gorge on Thursday and fractured his leg in the process.
Both Sohtun and Syntengheh are nursing their injuries.

Body found

On December 24 around 7.30 am, the body of a new born male baby was recovered near PHE Stores at Caroline Colony, Jowai. Necessary formalities have been observed and the matter is under enquiry.

Theft

W.D. Dkhar, Assistant Engineer, MeECL lodged a complaint that on December  3, 2013 during site inspection at Ringkyrtein (West Jantia HILLS ), it was found that LT line conductors valued around Rs. 85,000 were stolen by unknown miscreants.

Injured

On December 26 around 8 am, one Pinki Devi (23) sustained injuries when a cooking stove accidentally fell on her leg in her residence at Lapalang, Shillong. She was shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong and matter is under enquiry.

Complaint

On December   26 around 3.30 am, one mentally unstable person Terry Marbaniang (23) broke the window panes of a staff quarter belonging to the Catholic Church at Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
