SHILLONG: A day after making allegations of a nexus between Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma and ANVC-B chairman Rimpu Marak, the outfit seems to be turning into a divided house, with its publicity secretary Doang D Shira on Saturday negating all claims of the nexus made by ANVC-B political secretary Ajaju R Marak.
“Ajaju is making baseless accusations to disrupt the peace settlement. He is not authorized to make any decision on behalf of ANVC-B. He deserted the organisation after posting his letter from our official mail ID yesterday which was unauthorized,” Shira said on Saturday, while claiming that the militant outfit will not abandon the peace pact.
The outfit also urged the Government and the leaders of the society to support the cadres who have come to join the mainstream instead of making them feel insecure.
“Ajaju is very aggressive on police trespassing and displacing ANVC-B cadres stating that the chairman is too feeble to make any retaliation which led to the death and disappearance of many cadres,” Shira said.
Shira also said that during the last communal clash in Tura, Ajaju and other deserters had flocked to help the non-Garos and restore peace but were silent when their own cadres were being hunted and chased around.
“The desperation of the cadres will only disrupt peace in Garo Hills for which we call upon sensible initiative from the Government and social leaders as well,” Shira said.
The accusations leveled by Ajaju and others are ill intended with the sole objective to ruin the on-going peace initiative, Shira stated.
