TURA: A highly decomposed body of a young male has been retrieved by police from the upper region of Balka Wari near Rongkhon, Tura, on Monday afternoon.

The body with a suspected bullet wound was found by villagers who went to investigate the foul smell emanating from the area and quickly alerted the police.

The deceased, believed to be in his early twenties, had a scarf around his neck and wore a jacket and fine leather shoes.

Blood spots next to the body indicated that he may have been shot and bled profusely in the thicket.

Authorities believe the highly decomposed nature of the body indicates he may have died over two weeks ago.
