Promising FC score 4 in 2nd round win

SHILLONG: Promising FC (Malki) were convincing 4-0 winners over Sarong Laka Jong (Malki) in a second round match at the Meghalaya Open Football Championship, held at Malki Ground on Thursday.

All of the four goals were scored within the first half hour of play.

A quick brace by Skhembok E Diengdoh (eighth and 12th minutes) gave Promising FC the early advantage and his goals were followed up by goals from Amos Kharkongor (17th) and Kordor Marwein (30th).

In the earlier contest, Hynniewtrep Combine FC (Malki) defeated Nongkhyriem (Nongthymmai) 2-1.

Tony Nongrum put Hynniewtrep Combine into the lead in the 17th minute, but his goal was cancelled out six minutes later by one from Iarbok Kshiar of Nongkhyriem.

Tredami Gatphoh then made it 2-1 in the 68th minute.

On Friday, Jaiaw Mihngi FC will take on Wanderers FC (Laban) at 12 noon, while Raitong Sports Club (Ri-Bhoi) face Combine XI at 2:00pm.
