‘Illegal’ appointment irks qualified Grade IV candidates

SHILLONG: Association of Qualified Candidates, Grade-IV-2011, East Khasi Hills has expressed their disappointment that the illegal appointment in the various district offices is still continuing even after the State Government banned such appointment.

“As per the office memorandum issued on May 23 last, the Government has clearly mentioned that all appointment under adhocs, temporary and officiating should be stopped with immediate effect,” association general secretary Skhemborlang Pyngrope said in a statement issued here on Saturday.

He said that they have also found that the concerned district offices is expected to immediately informed the District Selection Committee (DSC) if there any vacancies.

In emergency cases, any offices like hospital in the exigencies of public interest can make appointment on temporary basis but the appointment should not exceed two months.

Earlier, the State Government had extended the validity of the merit list by another six months.

The validity of the merit list was supposed to end on January 29.

110 of the total 331 qualified candidates are still awaiting appointment.
