ICAR organises 10-day training programme for farmers

SHILLONG: The ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region is organising a ten-day training programme entitled ‘Recent advances in NRM (Natural Resource Management) research to enhance adaptation and mitigation potential of hill farmers’ beginning Tuesday.

The inaugural programme of the training was held on Tuesday. Dr. GN Hazarika, Director of Research, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, was the chief guest at the inaugural programme.

Altogether 25 participants from all the eight Northeastern states are participating in the programme.

Organised under NICRA Project by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya,

The training programme will seek to enhance adaptation and mitigation potential of farmers of the Northeastern region in the backdrop of climate change.

The sole objective of this training programme is to make the farmers familiar with state of the art research technologies and dissemination of the recent scientific advances in the field of soil, plant and water management.
