AAP makes debut in State

SHILLONG: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has come to Meghalaya with the constitution of a preparatory committee during a meeting held here on Thursday.

The meeting of the preparatory committee chaired by Habung Payeng, the National Executive Member of AAP and in-charge of Northeast also announced a 15-member committee which includes two CSWO leaders, Agnes Kharshiing and Evangelene Thabah.

Speaking to reporters, Pyeng said the preparatory committee has been asked to hold meeting immediately. There will be formation of district and state committees soon. According to Pyeng, those who wish to join AAP with personal intentions and only to contest elections are not welcome. He said that those who intend to serve people should join AAP. The party will explore the possibilities of contesting district council and Lok Sabha polls. He said the enrollment to members will continue in the whole state.
