Truck with illegal money seized by BSF in SWKH border
SHILLONG: The BSF troops of land customs station posted at Cheragaon under Border Out Post Bagli in South West Khasi Hills district , apprehended one Indian truck driver with his truck (Vehicle No ML-09A- 5607), while he was returning from Bangladesh to India through Cheragaon after unloading coal in Bangladesh.
During the search of apprehended person identified as Libandro Hazang (34) from Panchring, Ranikor, South West Khasi Hills, the BSF recovered Indian currency of Rs. 40,000- from his possession. The truck driver during questioning, revealed that the Indian currency was meant for excess coal being carried to Bangladesh by the exporter. The truck driver and seized items have been handed over to the concerned department for further investigation.
Besides, on January 22, the BSF troops of Border Out Post Kachuadogri deployed in South West Garo Hills intercepted one motorcycle (Bajaj Platina Regd No ML-08-A-8311,stolen from Tikrikilla, Distt- West Garo Hills) near Hills road and apprehended one Indian national identified as Samsul Haque (35) from Garobadha, under Ampati, in South West Garo Hills and one Bangladeshi national identified as Ali Azagar S K, while they were coming from Dalu side and going towards Mahendraganj for smuggling of Phensedyl to Bangladesh. During search, the BSF recovered two cell phones with two Indian and one Bangladesh SIM, Indian currency (Rs 22) and 10 Phensedyl bottles.
On the lead of the two smugglers, an special operation was conducted by the BSF troops of Border Out Post, Fakirakona deployed in South Garo Hills and apprehended two other Bangladeshi smugglers, identified as Md Habibur( 22) and Aminul Islam (22)s both hailing from l-Bhutiapara, Surjapur,under Halwaghat in Mymensingh of Bangladesh.
During the search, the BSF recovered one cell phone with one Bangladesh SIM and 370- BD Taka from their possession. The four smugglers were active in the since long and they were nabbed after a thorough planning by BSF troops.
Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.
