SHILLONG:  The UDP has stated that they have raked up the issue about the alleged nexus of the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma and ANVC (B) on the basis of the documents available in the ‘public domain’.
“We have no intention to malign the image of the Chief Minister,” UDP secretary Allantry F Dkhar said in a statement issued here on Friday.
He also reiterated that there should be a probe by the CBI since the people should know the truth about this alleged nexus.
Earlier, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma had threatened that he would be compelled to  approach the legal system to file a defamation case against the opposition groups if they continue to unnecessary drag this name of having alleged nexus with a militant group.
“I am just keeping silent at the moment. I would certainly take a legal recourse by filing a defamation case against the UDP and NPP if they continue to defame my image for their political mileage,” Dr Sangma said.
