Cheating case

lMarysha Khongsit lodged an FIR at Laban PS that her Facebook friend sent an SMS in her mobile informing her that he had sent a parcel for her to which she had to deposit Rs. 25,000 for clearance. She deposited the amount in the account but was instructed repeatedly to deposit more money in various accounts continuously viz., (1) A/c No. 20140864096 in the name of Vitoka Kawdmi and A/c No. 20137216608 in the name of Onoto Zhimo. She suspects that she is being cheated.

lOn January 30, Police arrested one Kamai Rymbai (48) in connection with a cheating case under Khliehriat PS.

lSunil Sinha lodged an FIR at Madanrting PS that on January 30, during the recruitment at Assam Regimental Centre, Shillong, S. Clavin Jebisaw (18), a minor (17), Chandra Aboh (18) and Shyam Lal submitted false relationship certificates to the Recruiting Officer.

Murder

On January 30, unknown miscreants murdered Shilo War (65) at Mawkarah village (WKH).

Body recovered

On January 30, Police recovered the body of a new born male baby from Jongkol near Indo-Bangladesh border (SGH). Necessary formalities were observed.

Theft

lOn January 30 around 5:30 pm, unknown miscreants stole a car music system and carrying bag containing birth certificate etc., from the vehicle (ML-05A-2609) of Basukshisha Kharbithai parked at Fire Brigade.

lRinpal S Marak lodged a complaint at Nangalbibra PS (SGH) that on January 28 night, unknown miscreant stole his Bolero Camper vehicle (ML-09-5170) from his garage at Rongdong (SGH).

lOn January 30 evening, Police arrested three juveniles (aged 13-14 years) from Umran Dairy, Umsning (RB) in connection with theft case under Nongpoh PS.

lOn January 26 night, unknown miscreants broke into M/s Niktengra Wine Store at Chokpot Bazar (SGH) and stole liquor valued around Rs. 32,000.

Rape

On January 30 around 10 am, one unidentified person raped a twenty-two-year-old lady in a cowshed at Khliehriat East (EJH). The accused is absconding.

Threat case

VC Singh of BSC C&C-JV Company lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on January 27 around 7 pm, one Manoj Mahani (a labourer of the Company) and his associates, threatened other labourers to stop the work and then forcibly took away 500 kgs of rods in a truck (ML-06-6317).
