NONGSTOIN: Police arrested two Achik National Liberation Central Army (ANLCA) cadres from Mawiaban under Nongstoin police station at around 8:00 pm on Sunday. The cadres have been identified as Charles D Shira, hailing from Dalbot A (Shallang) and Salman S Sangma,of Rongjeng Nongring, East Garo Hills.
The cadres were arrested while they were travelling to Shillong in a Maruti car (MLO5C 2708).
Police recovered one .32pistol along with one live ammunition, two cell phones with sim cards, Rs 34,840 and one Tablet from their possession. Police said, the duo were involved in the recent kidnapping of Kredinath M Sangma, Nokma of Songsak Bonegre in East Garo Hills who is yet to be traced.
