Agartala to host business Summit
Agartala: The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) would organize a business summit- Emerging Tripura- The Land of Opportunities at Prajna Bhavan here on Monday.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Industries Minister Jintendra Chowdhury , M. Nagraju, the Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Pravin Agarwal, the Managing Director, TIDC and Sanjay Jhunjhuwala, the Chairperson of ASSOCHAM, Eastern Regional Council will remained present in the business summit.
A number of companies and leading industries houses from outside the state are attending the ASSOCHAM business conference.
The summit is aimed to showcase the state’s potentiality in the field of so-far unexplored industries.
Barring some small and medium rage industrial units at Bodhjungnagar Industrial Estate, the state in spite of industrial possibilities has failed to draw expected level of response from the entrepreneurs and investors.
Now, the state government wants to break the jinx.
Ramesh Nagi new CS of Arunachal
Itanagar: Ramesh Negi has taken over as the new chief secretary of Arunachal Pradesh on the superannuation of incumbent Hari Krishna. Nagi, former Development and Finance Commissioner, took over the new assignment on Friday, the day of Krishna’s retirement. The state government has also effected a major administrative reshuffle by appointing Gamli Padu as food and civil supplies secretary, R K Mishra as education secretary, Sanjoy Goel as cultural affairs secretary and Nani Mali as transport secretary, an official order said here on Sunday. The government also appointed Dr Brij Mohan Mishra as Kuruung Kumey deputy commissioner, Dr Joram Beda as health & family welfare special secretary, East Siang DC Nidhi Srivastava as project director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. While Kurung Kumey deputy commissioner Dejum Ete has been appointed as APPSC secretary, its secretary Opak Gao was appointed as East Siang DC. Commissioner K R Meena has been relieved of his additional charge of education commissioner, but he would continue to hold the charges of personnel, transport and administrative reforms commissioner as well as commissioner to the CM, the order said. Assam militant lynched
Karimganj: A militant was lynched by a mob in Assam’s Hailakandi district, police said on Sunday. Rahimuddin (38), belonging to a local militant group ‘Zakir’ was severely beaten up by a mob at Boinchera Saturday night. He succumbed to his injuries at Hailakandi civil hospital, police said. (PTI)
“The days are not far when Triupura will become a hub of industrial activities with BG rail link, rail connectivity with Bangladesh and NH-44 coming up within next few years”, said an official of Industries and Commerce department.
He pointed out the state has already become a power-surplus state which will be an added advantage to the industrial strive. Besides, availability of natural resources like rubber, pineapple and gas may attract the investors from outside the state.
“Once the BG rail facility is extended up to Agartala, the industrial scenario will be changed dramatically”, he hoped
