New Assam Rifles IG
Major General Gopal R, Sena Medal, has assumed charge as Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) from Major General Satish Dua, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal. He is the second Inspector General of the new Headquarters, responsible for coordination of operations in South Assam, Mizoram, Tripura and Western Manipur.
Spectacles distributed
The Meghalaya Youth Foundation (MYF) conducted a free spectacles distribution programme at Mawber Village, East Khasi Hills District, recently for residents of Mawber and Umsaw villages, who had previously attended a free eye camp organized by Bawri Nethralaya in collaboration with MYF and NSS Unit of Holy Child Higher Secondary School.
Assistance
As part of its corporate social responsibility, Star Cement extended financial assistance for the construction of a public toilet at the Training Hall of Nongstoin Circuit House, while was inaugurated recently.
