In memory of Swami Devadevanandaji Maharaj, the former secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong who passed away on February 2 at Kolkata, the Shillong Centre of the Mission will organize a special puja, havanam, prayer meeting and Bhandara on Tuesday at Laitumkhrah. Swami Devadevanandaji Maharaj, popularly known as Chandan Maharaj by the Shillongites was admitted to Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan in Kolkata, where he breathed his last at the age of 86. He served the Ashrama and the state of Meghalaya during the tenure of his service as Secretary from May 8, 1976 to June 20, 1986. The Ashrama took many developmental projects for the welfare of the people of Meghalaya under his able leadership.
