SHILLONG: It turned out to be a case of six of one and half a dozen of the other in the U-14 Football Tournament, organised by the Shillong Sports Association at Polo on Monday.

On the second day of the event, Mawryngkneng defeated Lumshyiap 6-0, while Nongumlong dished out the same result to Mawklot.

Mawryngkneng’s Rimiki Pyngrope recorded the third hat-trick of the tournament with goals in the 21st, 30th and 45th minutes, while Angecius Mukhim (ninth minute), Dicius Kharduit (15th) and Kyshanlang Sohtun (48th) also contributing one apiece.

Nongumlong, meanwhile, had their goals evenly divided among three players.

Donbor Shanpru opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Kyrpang T Phanrang then added his double contribution in the seven and 11 minutes later.

Fairlyson Marbaniang then scored his brace (36th and 50th minutes) before Donbor returned with a 54th minute goal.
