Royal Wahingdoh start U-14 tourney with 2-0 win

SHILLONG: After a flurry of goals in the first three days of the U-14 Football Tournament, organised by the Shillong Sports Association, only two were scored on Tuesday in the two matches held at Polo.

Royal Wahingdoh proved too good for Mawlai in what was a tight contest that ended 2-0 at Ground No. 2. Young Royal Rudolf Nongneng scored a brace for his team in the 30th and 56th minutes.

In the other match, played on the adjacent Ground No. 3, Laitlyngkot SC and Smit SC ended a goalless battle locked 0-0 after the full 60 minutes of play 0-0.

On Wednesday, Rangdajied United will play Malki SC, while Shillong Lajong open their campaign against Nongumlong SC. Both fixtures will be held at 4:00 pm at Polo Grounds.
