SHILLONG: The parents of KSU leader Fredrick Kharmawphlang, who joined the proscribed HNLC recently, have appealed to their son to have a change of mind and come back to the family fold.

“We the parents, sisters and relatives of Frederick Kharmawphlang are in deep shock to know from the newspapers that our son suddenly left the KSU as a Vice President and joined the HNLC”, said the statement issued by SS Lyngdoh, the father of Kharmawphlang.

According to Lyngdoh, the parents are in great pain of heart and soul by the sudden decision he took.

“Our sorrow and sadness will not be repaired if you do not come back. We also pray that God will help you to change your mind”, Lyngdoh added. The student had reportedly tendered his resignation to KSU president Daniel Khyriem, wherein he mentioned that he would join the HNLC.

Kharmawphlang and 13 others had joined the outfit, Meghalaya police said.
