Prayer meet

A prayer meeting will be held on Thursday at 11 am for Pope Francis at Cathedral Church, Laitumkhrah. The prayer is being organised by the Shillong Archdiocese. All Catholic institutions will remain closed in Shillong, Jowai and Nongstoin. Similar prayer meetings will be organised in the rural areas.

Assessment

St. Mary’s College of Teacher’s Education (SMCTE), Laitumkhrah, has been accredited with Grade A by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The Council declared its accreditation in its 66th executive committee meeting on February 21.

Exhibition

As a part of the National Science Day celebration, the Survey of India, Shillong, will organise an exhibition in its office complex on February 28 from 11 am to 4 pm.

Unclaimed body

An unidentified body, aged around 35-45 years, was found at Ruiong village. Relatives of the deceased have been asked to collect the body lying in the morgue of the Shillong Civil Hospital.

Annual sports

Synod Higher Secondary School, Shillong, will organise its annual school sports 2014 on February 26 at Students Field, Jaiaw. Commissioner & Secretary, Education, IT Department will inaugurate the event.

Shivratri Mela

Shivratri Mela will be held at Mahadev Khola Dham, Upper Shillong, on February 27.
