JOWAI: The NCP candidate from Nartiang-Umladang constituency Moina Sing Phyllut who was arrested on February 24 along with his polling agent, Nibas Myrboh arrested for allegedly instigating his supporters to damage a voting machine when voting was on to elect a new member to JHADC, were released on bail on Wednesday.

Soon after his release, Phyllut clarified that his polling agent Myrboh, a resident of Umladang village, was assaulted by the supporters of Congress candidate Thombor Shiwat. He also said Myrboh had no role in the attack on the polling station at Umladang village. “My arrest by the WJH police was unwarranted as I was not involved in the incident at Umladang Polling Station,” Phyllut said.
